The inlet valve timing is electric motor-driven (VVT-i), for more precise tuning.
Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission
This transmission allows the two power sources in the Lexus Hybrid Drive system to work as one. Yet unlike a normal transmission, the Electronic Continuously Variable Transmission (E-CVT) allows seamless acceleration, without the jolting of gear changes you experience with a conventional transmission.
