LEXUS LAUNCHES GS450h (10th May 2006)

Lexus has launched the GS450h, a new high-performance hybrid luxury car that will revolutionise the automotive landscape.
Social responsibility has always been the primary focus of hybrid development and the new GS450h takes hybrid technology to a new level.

GS450h has created a synergy between fuel economy, low emissions, quietness and high performance.

It creates a fusion of power, style and environmental awareness.

It introduces a completely new set of hybrid characteristics, resulting in seamless acceleration unlike any current hybrid system.

GS450h combines Lexus comfort, luxury and styling with world-class performance, eco-friendliness and innovative fuel economy.

The GS450h is the world's first volume-production rear-drive hybrid.

It has 22 per cent more power than the most powerful model in the Lexus range. GS450h produces more power from the electric motor than many medium cars (147kW).

It offers fuel economy of 7.9 litres/100km.

GS450h has a 32 per cent greater range on a tank of fuel than GS430, and 13.5 per cent greater range than GS300.

The concept of reducing fuel consumption while increasing power and range has never been achieved.

GS450h combines quick acceleration and great fuel economy with super-low emissions.
