08.04.08 LEXUS COMMITS $230 MILLION TO EXPANSION PLANS

Lexus Australia has announced plans to grow its Australian dealer network by more than 50 per cent by 2012.
Lexus dealers will commit $230 million towards new and existing dealer facilities and sites over the next four years.
The number of Lexus dealerships currently stands at 22.
The new dealerships will consist of a mix of regional and metropolitan dealerships.
The expansion plans include substantial redevelopment of existing facilities, bringing them in-line with Lexus’ new global corporate identity and facility standards.
The first of these new-look sites, Lexus of Perth, offically opened this week, showcases the sophisticated new retail face for Lexus.
Lexus of Perth sets the standard for future dealership designs and existing dealership upgrades.
Lexus chief executive John Roca said that the commitment by Lexus had been made possible by the continued growth of the Lexus brand in Australia over the last seven years.
"Lexus locally is in growth mode," he said. "Demand for our vehicles regularly outstrips supply and our dealerships in their current format are reaching their capacity limits.
"Lexus’ success comes from satisfied customers. Our expansion plans ensure that we have a strong basis to support our ambitious sales goals, while continuing to deliver service and support that is second to none.
"Over the next four years, Lexus dealer facilities will be given a new face - one that welcomes customers even more and makes them feel as though they are guests in our home.
"The new look will complement a raft of new Lexus product that is due for Australian release over the coming years," Mr Roca said.
