CT200H VIDEOS REGISTER YOUR INTEREST

What began as the LF-Ch concept has now become a reality as the CT 200h, unveiled for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010. Swift response and environmental responsibility have been refined into a compact package without compromising on the luxury features you would expect in a Lexus.

Competing manufacturers in the luxury market have created a great deal of confusion as to the advantages of a full hybrid, such as those offered by Lexus, as opposed to mild hybrids offered by rivals. By doing so, they are hiding the fact that they are a long way behind what Lexus can offer its drivers today.

The new CT 200h reinforces Lexus' leading position and will continue to distance Lexus from any other luxury vehicle manufacturer as the only one to offer a range of full hybrid vehicles to discerning buyers.

Ahead of its release in Australia in the first half of 2011, the CT 200h has already received an enthusiastic reception internationally. As anticipation builds, discover more about this exceptional vehicle through the videos, photos and articles in the CT 200h showcase.

Colours and trim to suit your style

The CT 200h offers 80 combinations of colour and trim across the models, allowing owners to customise the vehicle to suit their individual style. Ten exterior colours are available, all with metallic paint as standard, an offering unique to Lexus. The selection includes two striking new colours, Flare Yellow and Volcanic Bronze, as well as White Pearl, Silver Metallic, Graphite, Onyx, Elysium Blue, Vermillion, Heat Blue and Blue Pearl.

Both fabric and leather accented trim is available in the CT 200h, with a range of colours to choose from. Fabric trim comes in three colours - Black, Ivory Splash and a red and black combination known as Redback. A super fine fibre creates a finely woven texture that is smooth to the touch and creates a brilliant sheen. The leather-accented trim offers a choice of three colours - a classic Black, a warm and bright Ivory and the clean, pure Water White (bluish grey).

Performance

The CT 200h is equipped with the refinement of Lexus Hybrid Drive. Put simply, an advanced 1.8 litre, 4-cylinder Atkinson Cycle VVT-i petrol engine works together with a high output electric motor.

At any given time, the optimum fusion of petrol power and electric energy deliver dynamic response with remarkably quiet running, and low CO2 and NOx emissions.

An Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (E-CVT) replaces conventional gear changes and drives the front wheels for acceleration without interruption. Equally remarkable is the Electronically Controlled Braking Regeneration (ECB-R) system that captures braking energy and helps recharge the hybrid battery which powers the electric drive train.

Lexus engineers have created a rigid body structure with a low centre of gravity, offering superb handling in all driving conditions. As a Lexus first, it is also equipped with an advanced front and rear stability damping system to absorb unwanted noise and vibration.

Macpherson strut front suspension and a double wishbone rear suspension system respond willingly to changing road contours, for optimum cornering control and ride comfort.

Direct reponse, quick acceleration

The CT 200h offers the standard driving mode that balances power with fuel efficiency, as well as different driving modes that modify control of the hybrid system, vehicle stability control and electric power steering, transforming both the driving style and cabin mood.

Sport Mode offers direct response and quick acceleration, while Eco Mode combines emphasised fuel efficiency with comfortable driving. Gauge illumination turns red in Sport Mode and blue in Eco Mode, and the tachometer along with the Hybrid System Indicator light up in Eco Mode. The CT 200h is also equipped with EV (electric vehicle) mode for quiet operation that uses the electric motor only.

Interior and exterior styling

The interior treatment evokes high levels of luxury and combines superior ergonomics with the extensive use of metallic finishes and dark, soft touch materials to create an outstanding driving environment of hand-crafted, premium quality and advanced interface technologies.

An LCD Navigation screen vividly displays vital information while the Lexus Remote Touch, which operates on similar principles to a computer mouse, allows a range of vehicle set-up programs to be accessed and customised with fingertip control.

L finesse styling cues redefined

The CT 200h is a dynamic evolution of the L F-Ch concept vehicle unveiled at the Frankfurt 2009 motor show and represents a powerful evolution of Lexus' L finesse design philosophy - creating vehicles which are not only distinguished by engineering brilliance, but elegant design as well. This is brought to life in the CT 200h from the visual harmony between the interior and exterior design, through to the advanced technology within.

It has a highly distinctive, sharp-edged, resolute appearance generating a unique aura which immediately sets it apart from lesser vehicles in the premium compact segment.
